Maths

For maths, I work with National 5 and Higher students, online and in Edinburgh. My approach emphasises a combination of:

• conceptual understanding;
• fluency using mathematical symbols;
• and application of understanding and fluency to concrete problems.

It's a commonplace that maths isn't effectively learned just by listening; instead, it requires doing. As a result, I teach mathematical skills through targeted diagnosis of difficulties and appropriate exercises.
